Karl is a level 2 boxing coach certified by the IABA (Irish Athletic Boxing Association). He started coaching boxing in 2013 at Mount Tallant Boxing Club, Terenure, Dublin 6, set up by Mick Dowling.
In 2015, Karl set up the Greenside Boxing Club, where he coached and prepared several boxers for the Dublin, Leinster, National and International Boxing Championships. His boxers went on to win multiple Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Karl is also certified by the IBA (International Boxing Association) as a 1-Star Coach and licensed by the BUI (Boxing Union of Ireland) to coach professional fighters.
Karl is an IABA certified and respected boxing judge who is known for his honesty and fairness. He has judged over 1,000 fights on a local, regional and national senior elite level. Karl is also a Boxing Referee certified by the IABA.
Karl is a former National Full-Contact Kickboxing Champion who represented Ireland at the World Championships in 2001, organised by WAKO (World Association Of Kickboxing Organisations).
Karl is a boxing coach most passionate about his craft, and knows how to pass it on. I had a chance to be coached by him during my professional career. He was very attentive and knew how to create specific training sessions to help me progress technically and mentally. Karl is an all round world level coach. From my experience travelling the world with the British Olympic Team and being coached professionally, I can say: Karl ticks the boxes! He doesn’t only explain to you, but he shows you. He goes into details, and explains the reason behind each drill.
I have known Karl for many years, from back when we both competed together as club mates. I would say: He is a true boxing guy.
